I had done some personal training and coaching on the side since 2021, so it was cool to get to do it all the time for the first year I lived in Arizona! Changing careers, moving across the country to a place I had never been and didn't know anybody was both exciting and overwhelming, but God closed a lot of doors and opened the right ones at the right time to get me here, so while I was scared about some things, I had a lot of peace, too.
You never know when something as simple as a Bible verse on an email signature can get you an interview. The little things matter. I digress...
In addition to one-on-one training, I taught some group fitness classes and some kids' small groups, which is really fun getting to help younger athletes with big goals and dreams like I had. The top-tier membership was a huge perk of working there and obviously made my own training and recovery better than ever. I won a 5k, half marathon, set a PR in the mile, won my division at the Arizona state championship olympic triathlon, and unintentionally broke a world record. Then I did it again (on purpose) just to be sure.
I had gotten NASM's Golf Fitness Specialist certification when I lived in Florida, but I had no idea I would actually put it to so much use. By the time I left Life Time, over half my clients were golfers. Arizona is the perfect place to specialize in golf because there are courses everywhere, and the weather is playable year-round. You can still get this program online through the app I use for clients now if you're looking to improve your game and move better.
Life Time has their own line of supplements, and they are some of the best you can get (NSF and GMP certified, third-party tested, AND taste great).
